The USS Stockdale (DDG106) is a guided missile destroyer home-ported in San Diego and was commissioned on April 18, 2009. This ship, named after Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale, was adopted by the City of Laguna Niguel on April 1, 2014. The Stockdale has a crew of approximately 300 sailors and officers. The Officers and crew continue to serve as a deployed member of several US Navy Pacific Fleet Battle Groups in this Theater of Operations. The Stockdale also can be expected top participate in crisis situations around the world that require a fully capable battle ready missile destroyer.
