The 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment in the 40th Infantry Division California National Guard is a Blackhawk Combat Helicopter Battalion that is home based at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos. With 400 soldiers assigned, this Unit has seen action in the Korean War and has recently been in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, this Unit is part of an Adoption Pilot Program approved by the City Council on April 18, 2017.
